I hope everyone had a happy and restful break over the New Year period, and that students, staff, parents and other stakeholders all feel refreshed and ready to “get back to it” as we begin 2019.
In our first meeting of the year, all staff have been discussing the launch of our new Student Rewards initiative which will be presented to students in assemblies next week. Pupils in Years 7-10 will be issued with a special card on which they will collect rewards stickers each week. The stickers will be issued across all subjects to reward a high standard of work and effort and equal PRIDE points. Form tutors will collate weekly totals and Bronze, Silver and Gold certificates will be awarded to students in assemblies in recognition of hard work and reaching their teachers’ high expectations successfully.
In recognition of these achievements we are in the process of turning our main school corridor into a Corridor of Success where we will be able to celebrate and feature the names of students achieving a high number of PRIDE points. As many of you will know, this is a long corridor with plenty of room, so I hope as many of our students as possible are self-motivated and encouraged enough by their parents and teachers to try and feature on its walls as part their new 2019 resolutions!
