Thank you to parents and carers of our young people who were able to join me for the first of our Parent Coffee Mornings, which took place before half term.
It was a pleasure to spend time with parents and carers from over thirty of our families. Apart from drinking coffee and eating cake I feel that we covered quite a few topics relating to both our young people and our town. As those of you who follow our news and web site will know, we have now launched a new Rewards Policy in school, and this was discussed in more depth and detail during the morning. Another topic covered was our, now well recognised and established, Able and Talented programme, which was covered by our Able and Talented Coordinator Mrs Bradley-Elwell. It was a pleasure to also welcome St Peter’s and St David’s Church to the meeting, during which Father John spoke to parents about how they could become involved in The Fleetwood Hospital Project, which is now at the ‘mapping’ stage whilst students and stakeholders work out what our town needs against what we already have.
I’d also like to thank my staff and Year 11 students for putting in extra time over half term, when they came into school during their holidays to do extra revision workshops in Maths, Science and French.
Finally, I apologise to any of you who took a fright a week last Thursday if you thought you saw a dinosaur, a Peaky Blinder, Superwoman, Batman, or any number of other notorious characters walking down Broadway, or around Fleetwood… You weren’t hallucinating, it was just our Year 11 students in fancy dress! This was for our annual “Dress Up” day during which the students raised over £100 towards their 2019 prom.
