FLEETWOOD'S FROGFACE VISITS ROYLES BROOK

Thanks to Year Six student Lucy Allinson, pupils at Royles Brook Primary School recently enjoyed an educational talk from speaker Alan Bennett on the red-eyed tree frog.
Lucy entered Fleetwood High School’s Open Evening prize draw for local primary school children, and won.  As a result she not only obtained a prize for herself, but won one for her classmates too.  Alan used to teach at Fleetwood, but left a few years ago to follow a dream to teach in Costa Rica. He is infectiously passionate about wildlife, and has now returned to this country as ‘Frogface Bennett’ (as you’ll find him on the internet!), working independently and renewing some of his links with Fleetwood High School.
Students at Royles Brook listened with intent to Alan’s stories of Costa Rica. They eagerly asked questions and contributed their own ideas, as he took them on his journey through the Costa Rican rainforest in an attempt to find the red-eyed tree frog.  In the process, Alan also described his teaching experiences in Costa Rica and his encounters with many other forms of wildlife.
