BEYOND THE CURRICULUM

“Pupils have access to a range of activities which enrich their experiences and broaden their horizons effectively” Ofsted

Although the curriculum is our main business, we are also keen for our students to participate in a range of activities outside lessons. We have a wide variety of opportunities on offer before school, at lunch times and after lessons finish for the day.

As a school with recognised sporting expertise, students have the option to become involved in a number of extra-curricular opportunities exclusive to our school. Sporting opportunities are offered in such sports as football, tennis, swimming, climbing, netball, rounders, rugby etc. In addition most curriculum areas offer clubs to students. For example, lunchtime Maths club, the
Science Aspire club and the ICT club.

Performing Arts is also strong in the school, and students across the age and the ability range have the opportunity to take on on-stage or back-stage role in productions which include music recitals, dramas and Talent Spotters competitions.

The school runs regular educational visits, some abroad. Recent trips have been to Disneyland Paris, Barcelona, the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, London’s West End and Blackpool Grand Theatre.
